Hi, I’m Aska
A product designer, a recent Cognitive Science graduate with a specialization in Interaction Design from UC San Diego, based in New York City
As a product designer, I enjoy turning complex challenges into intuitive, well-crafted experiences. I work closely with product and engineering teams, iterating quickly to bring thoughtful solutions to life. Designing for global audiences especially excites me because it requires balancing usability, cultural nuance, and strong visual craft.
My Values
design
life
Open-mindedness
Embracing fresh ideas and diverse viewpoints, welcoming input from users and team members to enrich the design process.
Welcoming different perspectives and ideas in friendships and collaborations, keeping an open heart and mind.
Communication
Keeping the conversation flowing, actively listening to user feedback and sharing design decisions openly with stakeholders and teammates.
Keeping conversations clear and open with loved ones and colleagues, building strong connections through honest dialogue.
Adaptability
Remaining flexible and responsive to changing project requirements and user needs, iterating on design solutions based on feedback and evolving priorities.
Rolling with life's changes and challenges, staying flexible and resilient while finding joy in the journey, wherever it may lead.
My Culture
As a half-Japanese and half-Turkish, born in Istanbul, formerly known as Constantinople, I had the unique experience of being immersed in and influenced by both cultures while growing up. This diverse environment has deeply shaped my worldview and design approach. I've learned to appreciate different cultures and unique perspectives, which I now try to incorporate into my creative work. Whether it's the traditional arts of Japan or the lively atmosphere of Turkey, I draw inspiration from a wide range of influences to create meaningful designs. And just so you know, I love tea~
My Adventures
Born into a family of explorers, adventure runs in my blood. My dad went to Japan from Turkey to study, and my mom left Japan to move to Turkey for our family's future. Growing up in Turkey, strategically positioned at the crossroads of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, provided me with endless opportunities to explore diverse cultures and landscapes. When I felt the pull of new opportunities, I came to the United States for college. Here, in the midst of studying hard and trying new things, I still love to explore and discover.
Welcome to my world of adventure and discovery
